Snowy cold.

After the last 2 pages in the Fall it was time for some winter.
I decided I was going to take pictures from all the steps. So I set up my phone in a holder with a ring light and a cloth on the table.

I started with the blank page

I used 3 acrylic colors from the Standard Series of Amsterdam for the background
    #385     Rose Quinacrodone cl.
    #551    Sky Blue light
    #519    Ultramarine Violet
for the edges I used #562 Greyisch Blue
I added some transparent white to make it more pastel and tone everything down.

ANd then.....

I forgot about the pictures :)
Until I was done coloring the face and had added the snowflakes, so I decided to just finish it and take pictures afterwards. But I will tell you about all the steps nonetheless.

I sketched the face in pencil and colored it in with Faber Castell Polychromos.

Then I cut out some snowflakes from tissue paper.  (next time I would use printerpaper since the tissuepaper was barely visible after I glued it down with modgepodge.
To make them stand out I traced the edges with blue and purple tombow markers and added some shading with pencil.  Around the Girl and over the snowflakes I stenciled some snowflakes in white.

As a finishing touch I added some white and #820 Pearl Blue (irridescent)  splatters.
Hopefully the next pages won't take as long as the previous ones before they appear on this blog :)
Thanks for reading,

Hello Fall

I made these pages about 2 months ago, but never posted about them.

I've drawn sketches of a face looking at something on a mushroom a couple of times in my sketchbook. When I found 2 calligraphic "Hello's", that I had written on tissue paper to test out some ink a while ago, I got an idea :)

The first page I used had already some tissue paper glued on from other project that had some leftovers. So I just started on that page. I used some white to tone it down and added fall colors with my Schmincke watercolors.

The two pages took a while to make because I wasn't sure about painting with acrylics, so I was procrastinating and for a couple of weeks the pages looked like this:

And then when I found the courage to start on the acrylic, I forgot to take pictures 🙄
The only thing I added to the background after these pictures are the Hello's and some stamped leaves in fall colors.
Everything else is painted with Amsterdam Acrilycs and I used Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils to add some details and extra shading.

So here a pictures of the finished pages.
