Curly head

This  background with  purple circles and orange blue acrylic wash inspired to use it as a background for my curler girl. The purple is Distress Oxide Spray, the orange dilluted Acrylic paint.

Drawing on a separate paper coloring and then glueing it in is so much easier than doing it over a background that I did it again. And like the last couple of Journalling pages I used Mondi Color Copy 120gsm paper and copics.

I added some curler shapes in the background with gelly roll pens and a simple purple border finishes the page. Pretty simple page.

Bubble Girl

I've wanted to draw and color a girl blowing a bubble gum bubble for a while, but wasn't completely sure how to color it :) Turned out ok I think.

This page was started by gesso-ing the page with white and adding some pink and blue paint streaks in. It creates a very textured and rough surface. I really liked the look of the background, so I didn't want to cover it up with to much other stuff. I just added a turquoise border with a Sigma Brush pen and went through my die-cut circles stash to find some pink, blues and purples. I added some circles on the die cut's and a shine with sakura gelly roll pens.

The girl is drawn on Mondi Color Copy paper 120gsm, colored her  with  copics and finally fussy  cut. I added a little detail with Faber Castell polychromos pencil and the white highlights are made with a white Posca pen.

Way home

Once upon a time I had blue leftover acrylic paint that I used up on this page by rubbing it through an arrow stencil. The page stayed that way for a while, not sure what to do with it until now.

I saw the arrows and thought of a lost girl trying to find her way, but having no clue how to use a map.

First  I added a  wash of yellow acryl (acryl paint  +water) at the top of  the page and a green wash at the bottom. The whole was to bright so I added 2 layers of white wash to tone down the whole page.

On a separate paper (Mondi Color Copy 120gsm) I drew the girl and colored her with Copics.  I also printed out a map of Switzerland on craft paper. I glued the girl with Modge Podge and the map with double sided tape. I crumpled, folded and stuck the map upside down, to give the impression  she is lost,  but her face looks too smiley  and composed to give that vibe to the whole page.

On the left side I drew a signpost with some Swiss City names on.

To finish the page of I added a golden and black border, outlined some of the arrows with gelly roll pens in blue and greens and gave the girl  a green shadow with  Inktense pencils that I blended with a wet brush.

Lastpage Clown

The very last page of my Large Dylusions Creative Journal! Now, I need to decide what to do with the  cover.   As mentioned in a previous ...
