This page is #32 in my Dylusions journal, this means 2/3 of my journal is full. (I took some pages out when I was about 10 pages in because it was starting to be too thick due to all the texture in it.)
As a first layer I used Amsterdam Acrylics in the colors Turkoise blue and Turkoise green.
Then I added some Titanium white with a brayer over a big flower stencil. Since I wanted some contrast I added some stamping with bubblewrap in the color Nickel titan yellow but it didn't have the effect I was hoping for. It is not contrasting enough.
At the same time I was working on this page I also needed to make a card for a wedding. While I was embossing some paper, I made some extra just to see how it would look and to have it on hand. Afterwards the embossed papers lingered on my desk when I continued to work on this page. That's when I got the idea to spray the embossed paper with pink and purple inks and us it on this page. Why did I never think of this before?? It gives a very nice dimension to the page and I have plenty of embossing folders that I hardly use. The one I used here is "Modern Wallpaper" by Cuttlebug.
After tearing pieces and gluing it down I shaded the edges with Inktense pencils and blended with a damp brush. I love the contrast between the purple and turkoise and I'll definitely use more of the embossed papers in the future.
In continuation of all the faces in this journal I decided to keep it simple and draw a girl with some flowers in het hair. The face and hair are colored with acrylics, the flowers with Faber Castell polychromos colored pencils.
To finish the page of I darkened the edges with Distress inks and a blending brush.
Thanks for reading, the next page is another girl with flowers, but the look is completely different. So be sure to check back next week!
